About Kidzoo

Kidzoo is run by Fionnuala O'Shea and based in Churchtown in Dublin.

I create fun and colourful giclée prints from my paintings, ideal for nurseries and children's bedrooms. It is extremely important to me to reproduce my original paintings as faithfully as possible, ensuring the highest quality and maintaining their vibrant colours and sharp contrasts. I have found that reproducing my paintings as giclée art prints is the best way to achieve this.

I work professionally as a motion graphics designer and have always painted in my spare time. When my niece was born I wanted to buy her some original, stimulating and Irish-made artwork for her bedroom. I was surprised by the lack of high quality original Irish artwork on the market for children and decided to paint her some pictures myself. I discovered that I thoroughly enjoyed creating the artworks and was delighted with my niece's excited response to the bright colours and simple shapes.
When my own children were born I created more and more, expanding the range and developing the style. In that way Kidzoo was born! I love to paint and really enjoy simplifying each animal down to a few basic shapes and using bold, strong colours that young children respond to. Fun and humour are also key aspects of all of my work!
Just to explain the process of giclée printing:
Each animal is hand-painted using acrylic paints. These paintings are then scanned digitally at high resolution before being printed using the highest quality pigment inks onto artist's archival paper. This method of giclée printing ensures the vibrant colours and subtle details of the original paintings are reproduced in each print. The inks are fade-resistant and will last a lifetime. Which means for you bright, colourful artwork that could also hang on your grandchildren's walls!

I personally sign each Kidzoo print.

All Kidzoo prints, frames and cards are made exclusively in Ireland.

All Kidzoo frames use acrylic glazing instead of glass to ensure they are safe to hang in children's bedrooms.
